Happy New Year from Ellensburg Today.

Pictographs from the Gingko Petrified Forest, down the road at Vantage, WA. I could be wrong, but I think they are wishing you a very happy, warm, and delightful New Year!

Bicycle wheels at Dick and Jane's house on South Pearl Street.

Both Dick and Jane are nationally renowned artists. You can Google: dick and jane's spot--to find examples of their more sophisticated art styles.

The neighborhood snow gauge fence.

For snow that mostly fell straight down, the reading is 8 and 1/2 new inches of snow on Sunday morning.

Sunday, December 12, 2010

The snow bear returns to Ellensburg.

More snow this weekend. I will do a "scientific" survey of the amount and post it tomorrow--since it is obvious that I have some time on my hands.

A creek runs through it...

The creek that runs through the Central Washington University campus is frozen over.
Those summer reflections of 2010 are long gone.

Love those icicles!

Most of the newer homes in Ellensburg do not have gutters. It never rains much, so who needs them? When it snows the icicles hang down from all around the house.

Central Washington University Ware Fair 2010.

Inside the campus Student Center with about 50 vendors, including student organizations. A great time for students to purchase gifts before the Christmas break.

It's all snow in Ellensburg!

Looking toward Happy's Market on University Avenue. Somewhere under there is the sidewalk.

Creative spider dude has spun his last masterpiece...

The effects of freezing fog...does it look Picasso? Perhaps a Jackson Pollock influence?

Snowed in Pizza...

Pizza Rita's Large Pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and mushrooms.
The Weather Channel says that more Pizzas are delivered on this day of the year than any other day.

17 Degrees with snow on the streets.

I could walk to town...even over to the CWU campus, but at 17 degrees all day I think I will stay in and just order Pizza!

Sunday, November 21, 2010

The last Farmer's Market for 2010.

With light snow and 35 degrees this was a Saturday indoor event at the Public Library. A good crowd was present to shop for Thanksgiving produce and unique Christmas items.

Pizza Rita on Main Street.

I have photographed Pizza Rita several times with flat light, wrong angles and bad results. Early in the morning I was happy with this one--with the sun flare and the road marks. A little atmosphere seems to help--and I have saved the best shot--I think--for tomorrow's blog. Click the photo to enlarge this one.
